Here at Galloways, we’re always keen to show off our impressive Poynton-based premises.
As produces of high-quality prints for a range of clients across the North West we continue to go from strength to strength, and our state of the art equipment is a reflection of this.
So, we were naturally delighted to welcome local MP, David Rutley along to see this for himself. The visit followed a recent meeting between David and Managing Director Andy Galloway in Parliament at a British Printing Industries Federation reception.
David was given a full tour of the premises at Poynton Industrial Estate by Andy and met with a number of our large team of staff. We took the opportunity to explain more about the wide range of print technologies that Galloways offers, including digital, reprographics, direct mail and online ordering services. We also demonstrated some of our more specialist equipment, including the state-of-the-art Heidelberg digital and litho printing machines which we’ve recently ploughed a significant investment in to – essential when it comes to managing about 500 individual print jobs per month.
Andy is part of the fifth generation of the Galloway family to provide print services to Cheshire, Greater Manchester and further afield. Established in 1870, the company was originally based at 14 Charlotte Street in the heart of Manchester. Whilst the building housing its original premises is still there, Galloways moved in the 1930s to Salford, to a site later completely destroyed in World War Two. The firm subsequently relocated to Stockport in 1964, and then on to its current location in Poynton in 1989.
Speaking after his visit, David said:
“Galloways has been at the heart of print technology in our area for many years, and it is great to see this long-standing family firm continuing to expand the services it offers and remaining at the cutting-edge of print development. I was pleased to visit Galloways premises and see its efficient operations for myself and wish all the company every success as they continue to take the business forward.”
It was a real privilege to welcome our local MP to our premises. As an almost 150-year established business, Galloways has deep ties to the local area and we are very much part of the community.
The visit was timely as we have just made a large investment in our new machines, and it was great to be able to demonstrate how even in our digital age, print continues to make a significant impact on the economy.
