Today, the oldest tennis tournament in the world returns to England: #Wimbledon.
The first tennis tournament at Wimbledon was held on 9 July 1877. Twenty-one amateur players turned up to play, and the final was watched by around 200 spectators.
Yellow balls were used for the first time in 1986, and Slazenger has been the Official Supplier of tennis balls to Wimbledon since 1902.
Wimbledon's branding is iconic and a crucial part of its identity.
The Slam has its own primary colour palette, Wimbledon Green (Pantone 349C/356U), and Wimbledon Purple (Pantone 268C/268U). The brand typeface is Gotham, chosen because of its clean lines, legibility, and classic style.

This year is #Pride50, the anniversary of the first Pride event in the UK.
The UK had its first Pride protest march in London in 1972. 50 years on, around 1.5 million people take part.
The last 50 years have seen momentous, positive changes for LGBTQ+ people in the UK.
-Homosexual activity has been decriminalised
-The ban on gay and bisexual people serving in the armed forces has been lifted
-The age of consent for same- and opposite-sex partners has been equalised
-Same-sex couples have equal rights for adoption
-Gender reassignment has been added as a protected characteristic in equality legislation
-Gay marriage has been legalised
We are stronger, better, and prouder together. Together, we are making a better world, where LGBTQ+ people are free to live and love without prejudice.
